Low-cost CD package 1.

A low-cost CD packaging in 300g paper. Developed
by myself for use by independent record-labels and
music-bussinesses with a strict budget.
As filesharing and copywrite piracy make almost
everybody in the music bussiness earn less and less
this is a altarnative to reform your economic strategy
when it comes to producing releases.
Regarding amount of colours used the packaging
can offer a solution that is around a fourth
of the production cost of a standard jewel case.
As the uncarismatic jewel case have bored every
music consumer to death by now and many big
record companies seem to be very reluctant on the
idea to offer something different to their costumers
I made this one to show that there is still a way to
catch the eye of consumers.

Through a series of tests on people with different
backgrounds and social groups I must say that the
feedback tell it’s clear language and everyone said it
could add joy to the paying for CD’s once again.
The “standing” format of the package make it more
visable in the store CD-racks and will catch the eye
of costumers. The width is adjusted to fit all
standard CD-racks.

As the production cost is so low you have a more
flexible budget for your releases and replace costs
for dull plastic packaging over to extramaterial such
as stickers and posters. The keyword for me when
developing this was flexibility. The “pocket”
construction of the package allow adding extramaterial
very easily and we all know that adding extra material
for the consumer is like adding another reason to
pay for it.

The package use no glue to decrease the manual work
made at a printing plant and therefore decrease the costs.

For inquiries regarding the packaging, production costs,
prices, templates etc email me on micke@pmkfa.com
and click here to have a look at the Lo-Fi-Fnk “Boylife”
sketch here using the packaging.

The package size compared to a jewel case.

Low-cost CD package 2.

Made for the same purpose as “low-cost CD
package 1”. Slightly higher price of production than
package number 1. This package is based on a
“book”-like construction and is as number 1 also a
package that doesn’t use glue at all. This make it very
convenient to assemble it for yourself and through
that save money on production.

made in relation to the magazine conference with
the same name held in Barcelona July 2005.

La Vida Locash website.

Layout and visual concept for lavidalocash.com,
a independent record-label from Sweden.
The site layout is based on a “skeleton”-structure
where the menus, the header and the container is
fixed and static. The backgound is changed every
month or when there is a new release and is based
on graphics used for that latest release. In this way
you can save time, and therefore money, on making
new graphics and the background both advertise for
the latest release and show in a strong visual way
that there have been change since you visited the
site last time. Coding by Nova Drougge.

games I put a small live synthesizer in a livingroom
to play som old Nintendo games representing my
enviroment and the music surrounding me when
I made the mix.
